We use a range of tools that help us to think, plan, reflect and go about doing the work. We want to create a space that is sustainable, accessible, feminist, educational and cooperative.
Permaculture
Permaculture is care in action, with its roots in indigenous wisdoms and it’s branches reaching to create sustainable ways for humans to live in relationship with the earth and each other now and into the future.
Permaculture asks us to live in dynamic balance with the patterns and nature of our places. It asks us to find out about and learn from the people who have lived in this place before us; what were their ways?
Permaculture design offers us an ethics of care; earth care, people care and fair share. When these three are at the heart of our decision making and actions then we can move toward creating long term regenerative cultures.
Permaculture design offers croft 1 a toolkit to observe the patterns and processes at work on the land and in our communities, and helps us to create flows and connections between them that restores the land and sees to our needs in truly sustainable ways.
